Finance Assistant

iMultiply are delighted to be recruiting for a Charity Finance Assistant based in the city centre on a full time basis, operating a hybrid working model. This role is best suited to a candidate with a strong level of finance experience and knowledge, ideally in the charity sector.
The Company
A Glasgow based not for profit organisation found in the heart of the city centre. They have provided care and support services to the vulnerable and disadvantaged for over 30 years through a wide variety of means and locations.
- The RoleCultivate a positive culture in line with the charity's values where staff are supported and developed, leading by example at all times.
- Responsible for overseeing monthly invoicing, working with project coordinators to receive timely and accurate timesheets, raising invoices and issuing these to customers.
- Responsible for a proactive approach in debtor management.
- Responsible for engaging with local authority finance departments and maintaining a working relationship that facilitates timely payment of invoices and the speedy resolution of issues as they arise.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payments.
- Act as primary point of contact for customer/supplier enquiries relating to finance matters.
- Responsible for preparing and processing of supplier payments, ensuring that the necessary approval/authorisation processes are adhered to.
- Responsible for monthly reconciling of accounts.
- Responsible for monthly bank reconciliation.
- Responsible for completing and submitting VAT returns.
- Support effective financial oversight, ensuring adherence processes and procedures and monitoring systems and data for discrepancies and mistakes.
- Responsible for supporting the production of monthly management accounts.
- Responsible for supporting the production of annual financial accounts and the preparation for the external audit process.
- Responsible for maintaining an excellent working knowledge of all internal systems including Sage, Sage Payroll and online banking.
- Responsible for providing administrative support to projects as required.
- As part of the wider finance and corporate services team, retain a working knowledge of all functions within the team and provide cover as and when required.
- Maintain a sound understanding of charity finance best practice.
- In order to be successful in the role, you will have: Gained experience in a similar role
- Strong excel and numeracy skills
- Problem solving – and a proven ability to use your own initiative
- Great organisational skills – prioritising your workload and working independently, whilst also being a strong team player
- Brilliant communication skills, written and verbal
On Offer
The position of Charity Finance Assistant will offer a salary of £29,000, hybrid working, and is based in the city centre.
