Are you an experienced Technical Buyer with a passion for motorsport? We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join the Supply Chain at Aston Martin F1 Team as a Lead Technical Buyer.


Responsibilities:

  • To procure and expedite the components used across an F1 car – ensuring components are purchased with Quality, Cost & Lead time considered and ensure all risks to the business are mitigated based on the requirement.
  • Inform relevant stakeholders within the business of any delays or issues within the supply chain, ensuring the ERP system is updated to reflect expected delivery dates.
  • Ensure suppliers selected can meet all specifications and quality standards defined by AMF1 design.
  • Support the Direct Procurement Manager with sourcing strategy and planning with focus on reducing lead-times, increasing agility, delivery performance & achieving best value.
  • Support the Direct Procurement Manager in day to day running of the Direct Procurement team and be able to take ownership of key projects.
  • Lead by example and set the benchmark in all departmental KPI’s, processes and behaviours for other team members to follow.
  • Onboarding of new suppliers in conjunction with the Supplier Quality Team to enhance the supply chain capability and capacity.
  • To work proactively, responsibly, and professionally always, and to respect and comply with the company’s reporting structure.
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested aligned to your job role.


Skills & Knowledge Required

  • Possess good overall knowledge of Formula One or similar component procurement with an excellent working knowledge of multiple manufacturing processes. At least two years in a similar role is desirable.
  • Possess excellent problem solving skills with an ability to think outside of the box and to clearly describe practical solutions.
  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems such as IFS, D365 or similar.
  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge of the Microsoft suite including but not limited to Word, Excel and Power BI.
  • To be self-motivated and to motivate others to thrive in a challenging environment
  • Ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales.
  • To communicate effectively, positively, and respectfully with all colleagues
  • To have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and rapidly changing environment
  • Be results orientated and be confident in your decision-making skills
  • Be enthusiastic and versatile and be able to build, develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues
  • Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety.
