Job Title : Junior Technical Buyer.

Reports to : Direct Procurement Manager.

Primary Relationships : External supply chain, Production Control, Procurement, Car build, Race team, Design Office, Quality Assurance.

Key Relationships : Production control, Procurement, Manufacturing Department Heads, Car build, Race team

PURPOSE

  • To procure components and assemblies required in the manufacture and assembly of a Formula One Car.
  • To ensure controlled and timely delivery of specified components to the required quality and cost in line with the business demand.
  • To actively contribute to the Team’s primary objective of consistently being a top three team in the FIA Constructor’s Championship.

Primary Responsibilities

  • To support in the procurement and expediting of components used across an F1 car – ensuring components are purchased with Quality, Cost & Lead time considered and ensure all risks to the business are mitigated based on the requirement.
  • To take ownership of a small number of commodities with support from the wider Procurement team.
  • Inform relevant stakeholders within the business of any delays or issues within the supply chain, ensuring the ERP system is updated to reflect expected delivery dates.
  • Ensure suppliers selected can meet all specifications and quality standards defined by AMF1 design.
  • To support the wider procurement team during peak periods, including but not limited to sending RFQ’s and open order reports.
  • Work with Accounts Payable to resolve any invoice queries from orders to ensure payments can be made to suppliers and maintain consistent supply.
  • Demonstrate understanding and adherence to all departmental KPI’s, processes & behaviours.
  • Support other team members on supplier visits to develop understanding of audit process and build knowledge within the supply chain.
  • To work proactively, responsibly, and professionally always, and to respect and comply with the company’s reporting structure.
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested aligned to your job role.

Skills & Knowledge Required

  • Possess some knowledge of Formula One or similar procurement.
  • Possess good problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to resolving issues.
  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems such as IFS, D365 or similar.
  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge of the Microsoft suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Power BI.
  • To be self-motivated and to motivate others to thrive in a challenging environment.
  • Ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales.
  • To communicate effectively, positively, and respectfully with all colleagues
  • To have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and rapidly changing environment.
  • Be results orientated and be confident in your decision-making skills and when to ask for help.
  • Be enthusiastic and versatile and be able to build, develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
