This is perfect for someone who is ready to step up and grow into a Transport Manager position over the next 12 years. Youll be supporting both daily operations and longer-term planning, while gaining hands-on experience in compliance, people leadership and depot management.Whats the role? Support the Transport Manager with day-to-day depot operations Ensure vehicles and records meet all legal compliance and safety requirements Be a visible and supportive presence for drivers on shift Coach and guide the driving team in a fair and consistent way Assist with onboarding, training and recruitment of new drivers Help investigate incidents, accidents and near-misses to maintain high safety standards Step up to lead operations when the Transport Manager is on leave or off-siteThis is a hands-on leadership role - not just office-based.Our ideal candidate You dont need to already be a Transport Manager. Were looking for potential and the right approach. Ideally, youll have experience in transport, fleet operations, route planning or logistics coordination, along with: Some supervisory experience (leading, coaching, mentoring or directing others) Understanding of driver hours / working time rules Confidence communicating clearly and staying composed under pressureHowever, if youre ambitious, driven, emotionally intelligent and fair, wed love to chat with you anyway.
