As a Support Worker you will encourage and enable adults with a learning disability by providing practical and compassionate support in all areas of daily living. Experience in care is not necessary you just need to have the right values and a passion for supporting people to achieve greater independence. Your role may including supporting people out in the community working alongside people to maintain and learn new skills supporting with activities and providing personal care.We are looking for relief support workers to cover for staff holidays and sickness usually with notice but sometimes at short notice for our services across East Sussex.Our Supported Living Services are located in Ringmer Crowborough Hailsham Eastbourne and Battle.These posts are particularly suitable if you want to develop your social care experience and skills with plenty of flexibility - whether thats to study fit in around family life another job returning to work after a break between jobs or just to get a foot in the may be asked to work on a pre-planned basis as well as covering for last minute absences within a service. Its entirely up to you whether you accept shifts.We welcome applications from people 18 years with an awareness and understanding of people with a learning disability and vulnerable people with support needs. This may be through life skills oryou may have social care experience. Although experience isnt needed an awareness of what good support looks like is beneficial as its your core values that interest us most about you. You must be a good communicator have the ability to work on your own sometimesin the Community and be able to interact positively and sensitively with people.We can support you to learn the necessary skills as you will receive excellent training opportunities support and mentoring in your role.
