U-Educate are seeking an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join an excellent SEMH School in Southampton to start in January. This role is full-time, with the potential to go to a temp to perm contract, so if you are ultimately looking for a permanent contract, please applyAs an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting pupils aged 5-11 with complex social, emotional and mental health needs. This a very challenging yet rewarding role, you will be required to support learners in a group and individual basis working 1:1.This role would be suitable for someone with experience of working with children with challenging behaviours, a care background or working with Children in any capacity.To be considered for this role of SEMH Teaching Assistant, you must:• Be confident, resilient, empathetic and able to think on your feet• Have recent experience in supporting children with special needs, or be willing to learn.• Be available full-time, term-time (8.45am-3.15pm)The school expect every member of the team to work collaboratively and flexibly, but you will have specific accountabilities, such as:• Working with individuals and groups of students, ensuring students are kept on task and complete activities set by the teacher.• Managing and supporting student behaviours in conjunction with the teacher.• Delivering interventions.• Providing individual student and group mentoring sessions as required.If this SEMH Teaching Assistant position in Southampton is of interest to you, please apply by submitting a copy of your up to date CV
