As our new R&D Manager for Snacks, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving innovation from concept to launch. Your mission? To ensure every new product meets the highest quality standards and delivers on taste, safety, and consumer satisfaction.

Based at our Gateshead snack site, you’ll have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of snacking technologies, collaborating with a wide network of internal teams and external partners. Whether it’s working closely with our marketing and insights teams or engaging directly with suppliers and customers, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping the future of snacking.


What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Innovation Leadership: Support the Head of R&D Snacks in leading the innovation pipeline. You’ll be the driving force behind new product development, ensuring that every product is rooted in consumer insights and aligned with our business strategy.
  • Team Collaboration: Inspire and coach the R&D Technologist and work closely with other teams to foster a culture of collaboration and creativity.
  • Market Impact: Work hand-in-hand with marketing and category R&D teams to develop and execute innovative snacks that drive growth for both our branded and retailer own-brand products.
  • Partnership Development: Build and nurture relationships with third-party manufacturers and raw material partners to keep our recipes at the cutting edge of taste and innovation.
  • Snacking Expertise: Become an expert in our snack technologies, understanding the nuances of each site’s capabilities to maximise innovation opportunities.


Who We’re Looking For:

  • A true ‘foodie’ with a passion for innovation in the snacking industry.
  • Experience in R&D or a related field, ideally within food manufacturing.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
  • A creative thinker who can turn consumer insights into tasty, market-winning products.
  • Flexibility and a hands-on approach to managing projects across multiple sites.
