Job DescriptionParalegal - Company & CommercialLocation: Leeds City CentreSalary: 24000 - 30000Experience required: 1-2 years paralegal experience in corporate law (commercial property or employment law also considered)About the RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal to join a dynamic Company & Commercial team at a well-established Yorkshire law firms Leeds City Centre office.You will assist solicitors and fee earners with a wide range of commercial matters from file opening to completion gaining valuable experience across corporate transactions commercial contracts and mergers and acquisitions work.Your key responsibilities will include:Corporate Transactions:Drafting corporate documentation including share purchase agreementsPreparing asset purchase agreements and ancillary documentsSupporting partners on complex and valuable transactionsManaging data rooms for mergers and acquisitionsConducting due diligence reviewsCommercial Contract Work:Drafting commercial contracts such as terms of businessReviewing and preparing franchise agreementsWorking on manufacturing agreementsUndertaking disclosure exercises with clientsEnsuring accuracy and compliance in all documentationClient Management:Taking initial instructions from clientsProviding clear and appropriate adviceDeveloping strong client relationshipsIdentifying cross-referral opportunitiesDealing with enquiries in a customer-friendly mannerFile and Case Management:Managing matters from initial instructions through to archivingObtaining and preparing file documentationFollowing office and accounts proceduresBilling files and obtaining monies dueLiaising with the Accounts department for payments and disbursementsBusiness Development:Developing and maintaining relationships with referral sourcesIdentifying opportunities for cross-referralsPromoting the firms servicesContributing to team successProfessional Development and Support:Maintaining legal knowledge and skillsProviding administrative support to fee earners solicitors and partnersContributing to maintaining and improving office proceduresContributing to a safe and healthy working environmentAny other duties as required by the firmWhat Were Looking ForEssential Requirements:Experience:1-2 years paralegal experience in corporate law (ideally)Experience in commercial property or employment law also consideredExperience of commercial contract draftingExperience of transactional legal matters (asset purchase agreements and/or share purchase agreements)Ability to deal with technical details and express solutions to complex legal problems conciselyAbility to work accurately in accordance with team requirementsAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesStrong prioritisation and time management skillsAbility to work on own initiativeAbility to work effectively as part of a teamCustomer-friendly and effective manner when dealing with enquiriesIT proficient particularly Microsoft Office productsExcellent written English to produce client-facing documentsGood spoken English to resolve telephone enquiriesPersonal Attributes:Flexible and can do attitudeProfessional demeanour to promote the firms imageStrong attention to detailExcellent organisational skillsCommitment to maintaining high professional standardsBenefits PackageFinancial Rewards:Salary: 24000 - 30000 (dependent on skills and experience)Comprehensive pension schemeProfessional Development:Excellent opportunity to develop corporate and commercial law expertiseExposure to complex and high-value transactionsSupport for professional qualifications and career progressionMentoring from experienced solicitors and partnersOngoing training and development opportunitiesWorking Environment:Collaborative and supportive team environmentOpportunity to work on varied and interesting mattersLeeds city centre location with excellent transport linksAccess to city centre amenitiesAbout Our ClientOur client is a well-established Yorkshire law firm with a strong reputation for quality legal services and excellent client care.
