We have an excellent opportunity for a **Paralegal**to join our legal team here in our Leeds office. We operate out of offices in Leeds, Manchester, London and Croydon and employ over 60 specialist solicitors. Our legal teams guide, support, defend and protect clients through a wide range of key legal services. We are looking for a Paralegal to assist withcase preparation, legal and administrative support.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Complete legal and administrative work on behalf of the Casualty Team based in Leeds and Manchester
- Conducting fee-earning work on defendant injury cases (EL/PL claims), at the direction of senior members within the team, recording that time on Markel Law's case management systems
- Preparing hearing bundles for use in contested proceedings
- File management, including drafting pleadings and settlement discussions
- Assisting in billing, preparing management information and other administrative duties, including allocation of work and post and managing diaries and spreadsheets of work

**What we're looking for**:

- You'll have some relevant legal experience in defendant injury work, or alternatively relevant legal qualifications such as the LPC or CILEX
- Be able to demonstrate first class client care and communication skills across all levels
- The ability to prioritise your work
- Have high attention to detail and accurate case management skills
- Strong written communication skills
- Be an effective teammate, demonstrate positive and co-operative interaction with team members
- Any experience using Partner 4 Windows (P4W) would be helpful
- Be computer literate, with an understanding of Excel, Microsoft Word and the ability to pick up new systems
