DescriptionWe are currently looking for a Data Scientist to join ourClinical Practice Research Datalink teamin the Safety and Surveillancegroup.This is a full-time opportunity on a 24-month fixed term/internal move or temporary promotionbasis. The role will be based in 10 South Colonnade Canary Wharf London E14 4PU. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.Government departments and agencies are working towards implementing a minimum 60% attendance in office sites.We are currently implementing a flexible hybrid way of working with a minimum of 4 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role this can flex up to 8 days a month with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. These functions will be supported by our data and evidence generating capabilities complementing our signal generating capabilities produced via the new Safety Connect System.Part of the Safety and Surveillance group The Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) with support from the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) is the UKs preeminent research service providing access to anonymised NHS data for addition to supporting high quality observational research CPRD has developed world leading services based on using real world data to support clinical trials and interventional studies.Whats the roleThis roleoffers an exciting opportunity to help build on the CPRDs 30-years of providing data for drug safety and epidemiological studies resulting in over 3500 peer-reviewed publications investigating drug safety use of medicines effectiveness of health policy health care delivery and disease risk factors. Join us to help support delivery of our real-world research services that inform clinical guidance and best practice.We are seeking an individual who is experienced in data processing data access and data analysis systems to develop and support end-to-end data processing solutions. Responsibilities include developing end-to-end Extraction Transform Load (ETL) data processing solutions from data collection through to; maintaining and supporting CPRDs data processing pipelines; ensuring data assets are of high quality and accompanied with appropriate levels of metadata; and identifying optimisations to enable scaling and repeatable use of data.Key responsibilities:Code Modules and Tools for Data AnalysisContinuous Improvement and Enhancements of data models and analytical codeProvide Quality Assurance on Data Models and Analysis OutputsWork closely with members across different multi-disciplinary teams.Who are we looking forOursuccessful candidatewill:Beeducated to degree level or equivalent in either a computer science-based IT-based maths-based or related discipline or equivalent wok-related experience.Have the capability to work across multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high quality data extraction and analysis outcomes.Have proven ability ofusing data science to analyse and model data at scale.Have expertise inusing statistical programming tools such as R Python and SQL.Have proven ability ofdeveloping processes and tools for modelling and interpreting diverse and complex datasets.If you would like to find out more about this fantastic opportunity please readour Job Description and Person SpecificationPlease note: The job description may not open in some internet browsers.
