Experienced SEND Teaching Assistant - Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and group support for pupils with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and PMLD.
  • Assist with personal care routines such as toileting and feeding, maintaining dignity and respect.
  • Foster an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement IEPs.
  • Use varied strategies to support communication, social, and emotional development.
 
Experienced SEND Teaching Assistant - Essential Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a school setting.
  • Resilient and positive attitude, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Confidence in providing personal care.
  • Knowledge of Makaton, PECs, or similar communication systems (desirable).
  • Relevant qualifications in childcare or education are advantageous but not essential.
