Planner - Major Infrastructure

The Role:
As a Planner you will provide support to the wider planning team on planning applications and projects. With the support of colleagues you will develop core competencies to help you consolidate your technical skills and confidence as you build your career.
- You will be responsible for daytoday management of section or project budgets including Work in progress on projects within area of responsibility.
- Youll gain understanding of the importance of financial success and takes responsibility to act in the interest of achieving it.
- Youll be responsible for interpreting organising researching analysing and executing a major project and or medium scale projects.
- Youll gain responsibility for fee control technical direction and effectively manages senior client liaison.
- Youll build the ability to manages medium projects or several small ones with complex features.
- Youll have involvement in drafting and managing planning applications preapplication enquiries and appeals.
- You will undertaking basic planning appraisals and research
- Provision of guidance to engineers/architects on the production of drawings and supplemental planning information in relation to planning submissions
- Youll create and prepare fee proposals to generate new business.
- Build experience managing clients throughout the planning process.
- Assisting and managing community engagement committee meetings and public examinations.
- Communicating with all stakeholders involved in the planning process and negotiating positive outcomes for the client.
- Attend occasional Site visits and client meetings.
- Hold an RTPI accredited degree or Masters in a related discipline
- Be a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute or be working towards it.
- Have at least a year working in the planning industry in either the public or privates sectors.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Hold strong client liaison skills
- Good negotiation skills
- Project management skills.
- Strong report writing skills
- Good understanding of the UK planning process
