We are looking for a proactive and analytical person to join Faron as Central Laboratory Manager. The main focus of this position is to work closely with Faron’s Scientific Lead, Clinical Operations in the coordination of all activities related to central laboratory services for clinical trials and work closely with sponsors and CROs to ensure study protocols are adhered to throughout the process. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work today with tomorrow’s breakthroughs. The Central Laboratory Manager will be reporting to VP, Operations.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate all activities related to central laboratory and bioanalytical services for clinical trials, including lab setup, sample management, and lab vendor oversight.
- Ensure timely and accurate transfer of samples from clinical trial sites to the central laboratory and other external laboratories.
- Monitor the lab’s performance, ensuring data meets quality standars and timelines.
- Maintain oversight of lab data
- Work closely with central laboratories and CROs to align on laboratory requirements, ensuring study protocols are adhered to throughout the process.
- Manage and oversee the data analysis and reporting process, ensuring results are available for decision-making at critical points in the trial.
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams, external labs, and stakeholders to address issues related to sample collection, analysis, and data transfer.
- Collaborate with other clinical trial functions (e.g., clinical supply, project management) to ensure smooth integration of lab activities within the broader trial operations.
- Proactively identify and address potential challenges or delays related to laboratory services.
Desirable Background and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Life Sciences or related field. Master’s or PhD would be desirable.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in clinical trials, with significant experience in central laboratory operations
- Prior experience in central lab management, ideally within a sponsor or CRO environment
- Strong understanding of laboratory processes, including sample management, analysis, and data transfer
- Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Good Clinical Practice (GCP), ICH guidelines and other relevant industry standards
- Experience with lab data management systems and project management tools
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; other languages are an asset
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness and ability to continuous learning and process improvement
