London based Senior Supplier Quality Engineer required for a performance vehicle manufacturing brand


We are actively looking for candidates who possess comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing and quality tools and have unrelenting motivation to enable suppliers for success. This position requires a combination of proven leadership and technical capabilities. This twelve-month contract, builds around the core ethos of utilising revolutionary, proprietary technology creating vehicles equipped with both dominating performance and iconic design.


To Qualify you will have achieved


• A bachelor’s degree in an engineering field

• A minimum of 5 years in manufacturing or process engineering role


Preferred Skills and Experiences:


•Experience with manufacturing, machined parts, fabricated components, or electrical assemblies.

•Technical capabilities including knowledge of 2D 'Blueprints' and 'Model drawings'.

•Knowledge of supplier quality processes (Production Part Approval Process, Advanced Product Quality Planning, First Article Inspection Reports, etc.)

•Experience with Quality Systems (ISO 9000/IATF16949/AS9100).

•Disciplined approach to problem solving - 8D.

•Proficient in MS Office applications and report writing.

•Knowledge of lean concepts.

•Experience with sharing information and influencing others (strong written and verbal communication skills, able to liaise cross functionally, internally, and externally, make presentations to team members and management).

•Knowledge of statistical techniques and methods (Minitab, design of experiments, Six Sigma, etc.).

•Design for manufacturability and assembly

•Experience with capacity modelling, process mapping and fault analysis

•Pareto analysis, root cause and corrective action experience. Experience performing PFMEAs

•Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) experience


Additional requirements:


• Ability to travel domestic and internationally - up to 60-75% travel is required, valid driver’s


Senior supplier quality engineer brief responsibilities


•Provide program leadership necessary to integrate the engineering, production, planning, manufacturing, and procurement groups to assure product quality, delivery, and cost achieves business and customer expectations

•Develop positive relationships and work closely with sourcing leaders to manage, implement, and track supplier/engineering, design changes, capacity studies and New Product Introductions, and outsourcing.

•Interface with component teams to prioritize supplier development needs by component to improve cost competitiveness or supply constraints

•Research external market information and entrepreneurial companies to identify potential sources and suppliers

•Drive supplier selection through robust qualification processes

•Drive improvements utilizing Lean methodologies, supplier scorecards and supplier audits, ensuring supplier compliance, whilst driving systematic problem solving and process improvement plans to deliver value

•Recommend technical product improvements to reduce risk and potential defect opportunities.

•Review and assess supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems. Provide feedback to as appropriate on manufacturing methods and technologies. Manage supplier improvement plans.

•Improve quality performance of suppliers by conducting workshops at supplier locations, providing technical assistance in developing a quality system, or other technical support as required.

•Function as liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to resolve supplier quality issues and to provide technical support.

•Demonstrate innovation, technical excellence, attention-to-detail, self-direction, & courage.

•Drive for results and customer satisfaction.
