Following a successful merger, the organisation are looking to create a new team that will focus on Support and System Reliability for the organisation's technology platform and applications, with the ultimate goal being to ensure seamless operation, high performance and reliability of technology services.


We are looking for a Lead in this role, someone that is comfortable driving this as a function while still being close to the technology, you will be the lead of a new team of engineers that will also be recruited as part of this campaign.


You will be responsible for:

  • Leading and coordinating the team of infrastructure, application and reliability specialist engineers
  • Platform Infrastructure Management: Ensuring the scalability, reliability and security of the tech infrastructure including cloud services and on prem
  • Application Support: Develop and implement effective processes for app support / software support and incident management
  • Reliability Engineering: Apply site reliability principles to system reliability and performance across platform and software, using monitoring and observability tooling to apply tactical fixes while feeding back to the software and platform teams for continuous improvement


Key skills and experience required:

  • Experience of working in a similar role or environment with a strong background in software application and infrastructure / platform support
  • Working with SRE principles to apply to system reliability
  • Scripting
  • A proactive mindset to anticipate and prevent issues before they impact both infrastructure and application reliability


The role is paying circa £70,000 (dependant on experience) plus bonus (10-20%) and excellent benefits including at 15% pension contribution (market leading for a private sector role)


It will be based from their newly refurbished central Newcastle office and will operate a hybrid working policy of 2-3 days per week in the office.
