Job IntroductionAre you an Engineering Manager? Here at Tarmac Aircrete in Stanford-le-Hope we are looking for the belowAs the Head of Engineering you will oversee the shared engineering team and complex projects for two plants, focusing on delivering technical solutions, managing budgets, ensuring quality, and fostering team development.ResponsibilitiesStrategic leadership, stakeholder management, process improvement, resource planning, and mentoring staff to achieve departmental and organizational goals, while maintaining standards for safety, quality, and innovation.Key ResponsibilitiesManaging engineering budgets.Manage and develop the capabilities of your team to build a high performing workforce with a culture of delivery and accountability.Drive engineering work planning via CMMS, backlog management.Implement, drive and sustain world class manufacturing standards throughout the engineering teams.Drive local execution of optimisation programs with Aircrete focus.Delivery of the Managed Maintenance System.Ensuring Investment and Capex Projects of up to £5m are identified, scoped, approved and delivered on time within budgetMonitor team / individual development and training needs, developing the team and creating succession plans Create a positive working environment and culture, developing a productive workforce and addressing any performance management concerns You willExperience of managing budgets and understanding P&L accountsManaged large teams in a production or manufacturing environmentDemonstrate making significant changes in difficult environmentsExperience of union negotiations5 years+ experience as a engineering or previous experience in similar roleKnowledge and understanding of manufacturing process within a heavy engineering settingExperience with management of SafetyLegal complianceDegree qualified – preferably in an engineering functionIOSH / NEBOSH would also be an advantageIn addition to this role we also offer an extensive range of career development opportunities and industry-leading rewards, incentives and benefits including:Bonus schemeEnhanced holiday entitlement Contributory pension schemeAccess to the Tarmac Reward website with discounts on retailers, holidays, etc.Access to our Employee Assistance helpline for free and confidential adviceAccess to join our Employee Communities (employee networks) we currently have nine communities inc.
