Postdoctoral Fellow in Pure Mathematics

DescriptionGrade UE07: 41064 to 48822 per annumCollege of Science and Engineering / School of MathematicsFull-time: 35 hours per weekFixed term: 3 yearsApplications are invited for two Post-Doctoral Fellowships in Pure Mathematics at the School of Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh. The proposed start date is September 2026 other dates can be agreed.The opportunity: The successful candidate should show very considerable promise in research and would normally have a PhD by the time of taking up the fellowship. The Fellow will be able to focus on research throughout the fellowship. They will also have the opportunity to teach (but there is no requirement to do so).The Fellow will be associated to one of our existing research themes and will be supported by an academic mentor. Please include with your application:- a CV with publication list a research statement summarising past research achievements and indicating future research plans a separate PDF indicating which of the five research areas Algebra/Representation Theory Analysis/PDE Algebraic Geometry/Symplectic Geometry/Number Theory/Topology Mathematical Physics Probability their research belongs to along with a short (five word) description of their research area.
