Your new company

One of the largest MGA's in the UK, based in the heart of the City that specialises in SME to mid-market Property & Casualty business. They have fantastic relationships with their panel of brokers and put their clients at the centre of their Underwriting strategy.


After several years of positive performance, this company is now looking to add a Senior Technical Underwriter to their existing business team within the London office on a hybrid working basis.


Your new role

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Provide underwriting support to the wider team through individual referrals
  • Taking ownership of large and complex risk underwriting
  • Provide underwriting guidance to the business in respect of Binding Authorities with carriers
  • Providing technical underwriting input into the development and performance of the underwriting system
  • Acting within agreed underwriting authorities


What you'll need to succeed

  • 10+ Years of Underwriting Property or Commercial business
  • Experience working in an MGA or with delegated authority
  • In depth technical knowledge of policy wordings, covers, rating and underwriting features across a broad range of Commercial exposures
  • Experience of underwriting at a portfolio level
  • Experience in managing broker relationships
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Confidence to communicate with stakeholders, both internal and external up to a senior level
