This rewarding role offers the chance to provide tailored assistance and help students overcome challenges to achieve their full potential.

About the Role:

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant you will:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to students with special educational needs (SEN), learning difficulties, or those requiring additional help
  • Assist the student with understanding class materials and completing tasks
  • Implement personalised learning strategies and support plans in coordination with teaching staff
  • Foster a positive and encouraging relationship to enhance the student's confidence and academic engagement
  • Monitor the student's progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents
  • Promote inclusion and ensure the student feels valued within the classroom setting

About you:

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Passionate about the academic and personal growth of students.
  • Nurturing towards others, with a positive, 'can do' attitude.

Location - Various locations across Dorset.

Position - 1:1 Teaching AssistantContract or position start date - ASAPDuration - Permanent/Temporary (a number of roles are available)Contract or position end date (if applicable) - N/AFull time/part-time - Full time/ part time (a number of roles are available)Hours - Standard working hours 8.30am-3.00pm (times may vary).

Essential & Desirable Qualifications/ requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting (desirable)
  • Understanding of SEN and the ability to work with students who may present various learning or behavioural needs
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting student growth
  • Flexibility and adaptability in supporting students in different subjects and environments

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

  • Hold right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
