Are you a graduate looking to upskill yourself with classroom experience?

A fantastic secondary school in the heart of Hounslow is on the hunt for bright graduates to join their supportive team to start as Unqualified Learning Mentors as soon as possible. This would be a full-time contract for the entire academic year, with the possibility to then either complete teacher training with the school or remain in a pastoral unit.

Unqualified Learning Mentor - What will you be doing?

  • The school will lean into your strengths, if this is a specific subject you will assist in the classrooms of your specialism
  • If your strength is psychology / criminology, this could be supporting students with additional needs including SEN and SEMH needs
  • Delivering targeted interventions for students in 1:1 and group settings, gaining valuable teaching skills on a smaller scale
  • Assessing progress of students via exams, essays, and interventions and reporting this to a class teacher or SENCo

This role is an incredibly opportunity for aspiring teachers or aspiring psychologists alike, with the school keen to direct you towards your chosen area of support

Unqualified Learning Mentor - Role Details

  • Unqualified Learning Mentor
  • Pay: £105 - £115 per day
  • Hours: 08:30 - 16:00 - Monday to Friday - No weekends
  • Contract: ASAP Start - Until the end of the Academic Year
  • Location: Hounslow, West London
  • Option to join the school's teacher training scheme from Sept 25
  • Progression for psychology graduates into more pastoral roles after 1 year

Unqualified Learning Mentor - Who are we looking for?

  • Graduates at 1st Class or 2:1 level - Essential
  • Experience working with young people - Essential
  • Strong A-Levels and GCSEs - Desirable
  • Passionate about supporting education for young people
  • Strong communication skills
  • Bright, Vibrant Personality
