The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.Although this role is primarily office based we do aim to support flexible working when possible.PURPOSE OF THE ROLE BBC Scotland News and Current Affairs is committed to providing first class journalism to audiences across Scotland and beyond. We provide multi-platform content from newsrooms around the country both in English and Gaelic. Many people depend on us as their source of News so to be able to play a role in that should be seen as providing you with a real sense of purpose and job satisfaction.YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:You will be responsible for booking accommodation transport and travel both domestic and international for all news production projects and deployments.You will be required to raise requisitions and payments via BBC Purchasing and the BBC Financial Systems as well as keeping detailed cost logs.Working closely to the Junior Production Manager (or equivalent) you will provide IT coordinator support for the News department which will include keeping oversight of and supporting the Newsrooms software and hardware requirements.The role also involves studio support including autocue operation in TV galleries and supporting floor managers on studio floors. The role will require afternoon/evening shifts to be worked during the week.Pre & post-production requirements will include clearing music and stills for all content and completing all paperwork via Albert Silvermouse and Proteus.Provide support with office management and be able to help with ad-hoc requests that come the way of the production support team.YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEESSENTIAL CRITERIA:Knowledge of BBC Systems (e.g. ACON/SAP OpenMedia Silvermouse Proteus MyBusiness Smartbook Travel & Accommodation Bookings)Knowledge of BBC procedures policies and multiplatform awarenessExperience of live TV Gallery and Studio environmentsStrong IT Co-ordinator skillsDemonstrable experience in working in a fast-paced environment along with excellent organisational planning interpersonal and communication skills.DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:Demonstrates business and finance skills able to understand and work with budgets.Experience of influencing and motivating others to reach desired outcomes.Able to consider and propose new ways of working to improve existing processes.If you can bring some of these skills and experience along with transferable strengths wed love to hear from you and encourage you to apply.
