Job Title: Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist (Neurodevelopmental Service)

Location: Remote 

Reports to: Clinical Lead Psychologist 


Duties and responsibilities:

·        Work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing care to children and young people with mental health needs.

·        Work closely with other professionals in the multidisciplinary team (MDT), including psychologists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and assistant psychologists.

·        Provide senior medical support and guidance to the team

·        Ensure that clinical practice adheres to CQC and NICE guidelines.

·        Participate in safeguarding procedures and ensure the protection of vulnerable children and young people.

·        Manage clinical risks effectively and maintain accurate medical records.

·         Provide psychoeducation and support to families and carers, ensuring their involvement in care planning and decision-making.

·        Offer advice and support to parents and caregivers, addressing concerns related to the care and management of neurodevelopmental conditions.

·        Support the development and implementation of neurodevelopmental services within the wider CAMHS framework

·        Administering Medication

·        Conduct the below assessments: 

-Needs Based Screening Assessment

-Family Assessments

-Autism Assessments

-ADHD Assessments

-Combined Autism and ADHD Assessment

Skills and qualifications

  • Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and full GMC registration.
  • Specialist experience in neurodevelopmental disorders, including diagnosis and management of ASD, ADHD, and learning disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.


Experience

  • Experience working in a Community CAMHS Service
  • Prior experience in an NHS CAMHS service is desirable.
  • Proven ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Thorough knowledge of legislation relating to Mental Health
