We are seeking a Project and Delivery Lead to join an energy consultancy that provides services across the UK, focusing on the public sector. You will lead the development and delivery of strategic renewable asset business cases to benefit the business and its Member Authorities in support of net zero carbon targets. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, including key officers, climate change and sustainability officers, colleagues and external partners, to drive project success and grow the renewable energy portfolio. This role requires excellent technical, managerial, and communication skills, along with a passion for renewable energy. Key responsibilities:
- Lead the development of business cases for renewable energy projects to support WME Member Authorities' net zero carbon goals.
- Liaise with district network operators to inform WME and Member Authorities of opportunities.
- Support Member Authorities by identifying collaboration opportunities that add value.
- Ensure feasibility studies for renewable energy projects are completed, either directly or by commissioning.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for renewable energy projects.
- Prepare and submit planning applications, permits, and contracts to secure necessary approvals and funding.
- Oversee the design, installation, commissioning, and operation of renewable energy systems and equipment.
- Seek funding opportunities from government, Member Authorities, and the private sector to support renewable energy transitions.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and quality standards; identify and mitigate project risks. Monitor and evaluate the performance, efficiency, and environmental impact of projects; ensure compliance with regulations.
Skills and experience required:
- Degree level or equivalent – desirable engineering or business or environmental sciences.
- 5 Years renewable energy UK
- UK public sector, UK sector procurement desirable
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong problem-solving, mathematical, financial modelling and organizational skills.
