FPS Environmental Ltd (part of the FPS Group®) is a leading flood risk and civil engineering consultancy dedicated to providing comprehensive solutions to clients across various industries. We specialise in assessing and mitigating flood risks, preparing detailed drainage designs, and offering expert advice and innovative strategies to protect businesses and communities.


As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a motivated and dynamic Business Development Manager to join our team and help build partnerships with relevant parties, such as planning consultants and architects.

You will play a crucial role in driving business growth and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.


You will be responsible for developing plans for business growth whilst assisting with preparing sales proposals, making calls to both potential customers and our existing customers, converting enquiries, and fostering long partnerships.


This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to our sales efforts and work collaboratively with a dedicated high-performance team.


Responsibilities:

· Developing plans for business growth whilst assist in preparing sales proposals, presentations, and contracts.

· Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing client enquiries and resolving issues.

· Take responsibility of key accounts, conducting monthly/ quarterly check ins to ensure they are happy with our services.

· Identify potential sales leads through proactive prospecting, market research, lead generation, and cold calling.

· Conduct calls to existing customers to discuss any upcoming projects they may have that could require Drainage Designs or Flood Risk Assessments.

· Meeting potential clients and prospects.

· Arranging and meeting Councils and Lead Local Flood Authorities where we are the appointed Framework Contractor for that area.

· Engage with existing customers to understand their evolving needs and identify opportunities to introduce additional services that align with their requirements.

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records and sales activities in the CRM system (Insightly).

· Keep abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify new business opportunities.

· Meeting with upper management to discuss progress.


Requirements and skills:

· Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive or a relevant role.

· Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building strong customer relationships.

· Strong communication skills with an excellent telephone manner, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

· Highly organized with excellent time management skills to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

· Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

· Proficient in using CRM software, other sales-related tools and Microsoft Office

· An interest in the Environment.

· Market knowledge (would be beneficial but training will be provided to the right candidate).

· Hold a driving license and be prepared to drive for business purposes.

· Willingness to deal with client enquiries over the telephone and via email.

· Good administration, organisation, and time management skills.

· Attention to detail.

Hours: 37.5.
