We have arare opportunity for you to join our Revenues Team as a VisitingInspector. The role is aimed at providing support to the Revenuesdepartment in the assessment and collection of Council Tax andNon-Domestic Rates.
The role will involve bothproactive and responsive work, to identify, review and monitorproperties and cases in the borough to ensure that our details arecorrect and up to date.
You will provide advice,decision making and respond to customer’s enquiries both remotelyand in person; review both Council Tax and Non-Domestic Ratesproperties for discounts, relief, and exemptions to ensure theiraccuracy; investigate suspected fraud cases for both Council Taxand Non-Domestic Rates and issuing any relevant penalties; monitornew builds with a view to serving completion notices where needed;and visit properties for information collection, review, andinvestigative purposes.
Previous experienceworking in a Revenues and Benefits environment would be anadvantage. However, we will consider candidates who can show theyhave similar experience along with an excellent knowledge of theborough and who can bring relevant skills that show they candevelop into the role by undertaking the necessarytraining.
You must have a full driving licenceand a car to be able to travel around ourBorough.
