Based at King’s Court Council Offices, King’s Lynn

Starting salary between £25,284 and £30,144 per annum

We have a rare opportunity for you to join our Revenues Team as a Visiting Inspector. The role is aimed at providing support to the Revenues department in the assessment and collection of Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rates.

The role will involve both proactive and responsive work, to identify, review and monitor properties and cases in the borough to ensure that our details are correct and up to date.

You will provide advice, decision making and respond to customer’s enquiries both remotely and in person; review both Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rates properties for discounts, relief, and exemptions to ensure their accuracy; investigate suspected fraud cases for both Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rates and issuing any relevant penalties; monitor new builds with a view to serving completion notices where needed; and visit properties for information collection, review, and investigative purposes.

Previous experience working in a Revenues and Benefits environment would be an advantage. However, we will consider candidates who can show they have similar experience along with an excellent knowledge of the borough and who can bring relevant skills that show they can develop into the role by undertaking the necessary training.

You must have a full driving licence and a car to be able to travel around our Borough.
