Position: Head of Research and Development (R&D)


Responsibilities: Playing a pivotal role within the Senior Management Team, the Head of R&D is entrusted with formulating and executing a commercially-driven R&D strategy. Reporting directly to the Founder and CEO.


Developing strategies across multiple fronts, including lab, field, and factory settings, the incumbent leads the charge in developing and refining innovative pest management solutions. This involves overseeing the identification of new pest species, maintaining insect colonies for research purposes, and designing/managing field trials to assess solution efficacy as well as devising procedures for automated rearing.


Furthermore, they are responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards governing biological research methodologies and the use of x-ray technology. Beyond these operational aspects, the Head of R&D assumes a strategic role in driving the company's growth trajectory, spearheading portfolio expansion initiatives, and facilitating the internationalization of solution sales and deployment efforts.


Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate possesses a robust track record in international crop protection R&D, with a particular emphasis on biological control solutions.
  • A PhD in entomology or a related field is highly desirable, complemented by proven leadership capabilities and extensive experience in team management.
  • Candidates should demonstrate a deep understanding of the commercial landscape, coupled with a proven ability to measure the tangible benefits derived from technical solutions.
