Job Description:

As a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist at London Pregnancy Clinic, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients. You will be responsible for supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering the highest standard of care, particularly in phlebotomy, patient preparation, and general clinical support.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform phlebotomy procedures, including venipuncture, to collect blood samples for testing.
  • Prepare patients for medical examinations and assist during procedures.
  • Conduct basic clinical tasks, such as measuring vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate).
  • Ensure all patient records and samples are accurately labeled and processed.
  • Support the clinical team with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records.
  • Provide empathetic and efficient care, ensuring patient comfort and confidentiality at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of medical supplies.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Phlebotomy Certification: Must hold a recognized phlebotomy qualification.
  • Medical Assistant Certification: NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably within women's health or a related field.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with prenatal care procedures and protocols is an advantage.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and basic IT skills.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in clinical and administrative tasks.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and handle a variety of tasks.
