As a Credit Risk Analyst, you will play a critical role in the management and optimization of the company's credit risk strategies. You will be responsible for analysing data, developing credit risk models, and monitoring portfolio performance to enhance decision-making processes. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that credit risk strategies align with business objectives while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

1) Credit Risk Strategy Development:

  • Assist VP - Credit Risk with development and optimisation of credit risk strategies to support business goals, such as increasing accept rates and improving decision-making processes.
  • Assist with design and implement credit risk models and frameworks that align with business objectives.


2) Data Analysis & Risk Assessment:

  • Analyse data to identify trends, assess risk levels, and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Review and analyse the performance of credit risk scorecards and recommend changes for continuous improvement.


3) Portfolio Management:

  • Monitor the performance of the credit portfolio, identifying areas for improvement and proactively suggesting solutions.
  • Develop and maintain standard reporting tools for client portfolio reviews.


4) Collaboration & Support:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Business Development and Client Relationship Managers, to align credit risk strategies with overall business goals.
  • Provide support to Client Relationship Managers with data requests and credit-related queries.
  • Build strong working relationships with third party suppliers
  • Represent the Credit and Risk teams at internal meetings


5) Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure all credit risk management practices comply with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Submit regulatory reports, including the FCA Cost of Living report, ensuring timely and accurate submission.


6)Performance Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of credit risk strategies.
  • Proactively highlight exceptions in performance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Produce and distribute monthly performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Produce and submit the monthly SHARE file to the Credit Reference Agency


7) Scorecard Management:

  • Review scorecard performance regularly and recommend changes for consideration.
  • Assist in the deployment of scorecard changes to improve credit decision accuracy.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in credit risk analysis, credit risk modelling, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
  • Experience in developing and optimizing credit risk strategies.
  • Experience of working within a regulated role and delivering best practices in credit risk management.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of scorecard development and management.
  • Experience with portfolio monitoring and performance reporting.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements, including those set by the FCA.
