The postholder assesses building regulation applications conducts site inspections and provides technical advice to developers architects and the public. They support enforcement actions manage records and assist with dangerous structures and demolitions. The role requires strong communication skills technical competence and a commitment to equality sustainability and continuous professional development. Working independently and collaboratively the officer helps deliver a citizen-focused service aligned with Nottingham City Councils priorities.About YouThe ideal candidate will have:Holding registration with the Building Safety Regulator (Class 2A minimum)Ability to assess plans and carry out site inspections for domestic and low-rise commercial buildings.Understanding of construction methods materials and site safety.Ability to manage workload independently and meet statutory deadlines.You can find the job description for this post hereAt Nottingham City Council we believe that work is what you do not where you do it.
