Adult Neuro Rehab Speech and Language Therapist BristolBanding: Band 6/7Location: BristolStart Date: ASAPRate: 41.0050.00 per hourWorking Hours: Full-time or Part-timeDuration: 3 months with potential extensionJob OverviewWe are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join a highly specialised Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre in Bristol. This service provides rehabilitation for adults aged 16 and above with acquired or traumatic brain injuries offering intensive person-centred therapy to support recovery and maximise independence.As part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team you will work with individuals presenting with complex communication and swallowing difficulties following brain injury. You will play a vital role in assessing diagnosing and delivering specialist interventions to help patients achieve clearly defined and meaningful rehabilitation goals.This role is ideal for a Band 6 or Band 7 therapist with experience in adult neurorehabilitation dysphagia management and communication disorders within an inpatient or specialist setting.Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role you will: Conduct comprehensive assessments for adults with acquired and traumatic brain injuries presenting with cognitive-communication disorders aphasia dysarthria and dysphagia. Develop and deliver tailored therapy plans aligned with patient-centred rehabilitation goals. Provide specialist clinical input as part of the multidisciplinary team contributing to goal-setting meetings case discussions and review processes. Maintain accurate detailed and up-to-date clinical documentation in line with HCPC and RCSLT standards. Support patient engagement family communication and education to promote carryover of therapy strategies. Participate in service development and demonstrate evidence-based practice within neurorehabilitation.Qualifications and ExperienceTo be considered for this role you must have: A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent). Current HCPC registration and eligibility for RCSLT membership. Previous clinical experience in adult neurorehabilitation including assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders. Strong clinical reasoning skills and the ability to work independently within a supportive team. Excellent communication interpersonal and documentation skills.
