Account Risk Engineersare responsible forworking with clients toidentifyand mitigate risks to their business such as fire flood windstorm equipment breakdown etc.A Day inthe LifeLookingfor variety and a challenge Clients range in size scope and complexity. One day you may be discussing the loss prevention strategy on an account with an underwriter the next surveying a manufacturing plant or diving into the contingent business interruption risks of an account. The key to success isnt about being the expert in every occupancy its about building trust and cross-functional relationships with stakeholders through effective communication. You will tap into your strong analytical skills utilize internal and external guidelines and leading-edge tools and methodologies to develop your view of an accounts risk profile. Knowledge of a wide range of light to high hazard occupancies and considered a subject matter expert in someStrong communicator (both oral and written)Position is expected to travelandattend meetings at various office field and construction sitesJobResponsibilities:Manage and lead a team of account engineers within the zone who are responsible for:Completing account reviewsImplement the Client Service ProcessManaging risk improvementsPerform property loss prevention reviews of commercial property accountsManage training and personnel development within your team and establish and maintain a training and develop planWork closely with underwriting to obtain and maintain clientsEnsure your team has the appropriate knowledge and skillsets to be effective in delivering services to underwriting and our clientsPartner with Client Service Teams to enhance client relationships and promote engineering capabilities.Mentor and train lesser experienced staffImplement the quality control of account reviews completed by your team of account engineersProvide assistance to the zonal engineering managerAssist with/Lead regional or global projects as directed by the zonal engineering managerProvide engineering data system support/guidance and stay abreast of system related issues within regionCoordinate engineering data system UAT (user acceptance testing) within regionParticipate in and lead zonal auditsStrengths for the position:Soft Skills:Highly motivated and workswell without close supervision.The individual must be able to make decisions with and withoutestablishedguidelines and toprovidetechnical support to underwritersandclients.Ability to work closely with various Account Teams including Account Engineers and UnderwritersAbility to complete assignmentson-time.Hard Skills:Professional Engineer or Certified Fire Protection Specialist Designation(desired but notrequired).Ability to perform inspections of buildings and other structures both visually and with instrumentsAbility to read construction drawings diagrams printed materialsPossess at minimum of at least one year of driving experience with a valid U.S. drivers licenseAdditional Requirements:Ability to perform physical activitiesrequiredfor the position (i.e. be onfeetandwalking8-10 hours a day safely work at heights)Ability to understand and appreciate safety training specific tonumerousworkplace and construction hazardsAbility to safely use ladders scaffolds lifts and other access equipmentAbility to lift and carry materials and equipment up to 50 lbsAbility to perform work in the outdoorsAbility to wear safety equipment required for the position (hard hat safety shoes safety glasses and hearing protection)Ability to safely work in a variety of occupationally hazardous locationsAbility to type at a computer for several hours a dayAbility to drive and safely operate a motor vehicleAt AIG we value in-person collaboration as a vital part of our culture which is why we ask our team members to be primarily in the office.
