ROLE SUMMARY

In this role you will be responsible for supporting Nissan’s global licensing program, working closely with the Licensing Director to maximise potential with existing key partners, whilst supporting growth across new brand extensions. The Licensing Specialist will receive broad experience across all facets of the business.


This role is mostly remote, with regular meetings in London (must be commutable) and occasional domestic and international travel.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES 

The Licensing Specialist is responsible for providing day-to-day account management for Nissan’s global licensing program, reporting into the Licensing Director.


Business Development:

•Undertake research and prospecting at the direction of the Licensing Director; perform initial outreach in agreed categories

•Support the Licensing Director in coordinating trade show schedules

•Ensure brand sales materials are updated prior to key trade fairs and support compiling trade show reports

•Accountable for day-to-day contract management of existing licensees, assisting with contract amendments and renewals, and analysing licensees’ performance and utilisation of contracted rights.

•Support the Licensing Director in preparing Licensee term sheets and negotiating commercial terms with new licensees 

•Support the contract review and drafting process, working with in-house legal team

•Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, competitors, business opportunities, and key licensees


Account and Licensee Management:

•Support the Licensing Director in leveraging partnerships to deliver against the client’s objectives 

•Support the development and execution of marketing activations and coordinate activity with client and key internal stakeholders/partners as agreed

•Proactively maintain client status reports, project plans, and timelines


Skills and Experience:

•Minimum 4 years of licensing work experience, ideally working for a global brand or representing brands at a global licensing agency

•Experience with automotive/motorsport brands desirable

•Experience of IP partnership management across global licensees in the toys, interactive and lifestyle brand extensions (softlines & hardlines)

•Excellent negotiator and high level of contract proficiency; experience of supporting licensing commercial negotiations and licensing contracts 

•Demonstrate a broad knowledge of core licensing and the product development/ approval process and financial royalty reporting

•Detail oriented with excellent communication skills, confident communicating with global licensees and senior stakeholders

•Commercially minded and collaborative with knowledge and a passion for consumer products and the automotive industry

•Ability to adjust to changing business environment

•Proficient in MS Office 

•Excellent self-starter, problem solver/facilitator, eager to offer ideas/solutions, collaborative, knowing when to seek others' input and target focused
