THE OPPORTUNITY

An opportunity has arisen for an AAT Qualified or ACA / ACCA / CIMA Part-Qualified Accountant which will involve providing support to a Financial Controller across Management Accounts production, KPI Reporting, Cashflow Forecasting and a range of other areas. Reporting to the Financial Controller this role offers involvement in all aspects of financial and management accounting and exposure to senior stakeholders within the group.

As an Assistant Accountant within the Central Finance Team your role will involve:

  • Monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
  • Monthly transactional analysis and management of prepayments.
  • Management of Fixed Asset schedule and posting of depreciation to management account
  • Assisting in the production of Monthly Management Accounts for several business entities and preparing various other reports / analysis as required.
  • Posting purchase ledger invoices and raising sales invoices for business entites where necessary (low volume)
  • Production, and ownership, of the aged debt report and working with the group credit control team.
  • Review and authorisation of expenses, ensuring VAT appropriately applied.
  • Ad-hoc projects and reporting as required by Financial Controller

The business is fast-paced and entrepreneurial and major expansion is planned over the next 2 - 3 years. Development will be significant and there will be opportunities to progress to Finance Manager / Financial Controller level within the Group over the next few years.

THE PERSON

You will be a Finance Professional with a good level of experience who can meet the following criteria:

  • AAT Qualified or ACA / ACCA / CIMA Part-Qualified
  • Background within either Chartered Accountancy Practice or alternatively Commerce & Industry
  • Relevant Accounting experience - at least 2 years including management accounts and associated analysis work
  • Good level of IT skills, particularly Excel and knowledge of finance systems
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fast leaner able to work to high standards within a busy commercial environment
