Senior Health Assessment Consultant for EIA and HIA As a Health Assessment Consultant at Jacobs you will have the opportunity to influence positive health and social outcomes for some of the most exciting major projects in the UK, Ireland and further afield. The opportunity requires someone with experience in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). In particular we are looking for individuals who understand HIA principles and have experience of how these can be applied in practice to statutory assessment processes applicable to consenting major infrastructure developments, including EIA and Development Consent Orders (DCO). You will be required to work collaboratively across diverse teams of environmental, engineering, planning and stakeholder engagement specialists, to deliver high quality work in the following related fields of assessment: * Population & human health assessments as part of EIA or Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) processes * Health Impact Assessment (stand alone or within Integrated Impact Assessment) for planning applications, plans and programmes Typical activities in this role will include: * Searching out and analysing relevant health and social data to inform desk-based population health studies and socio-economic assessments * Drafting and editing population & human health assessment chapters for Environmental Statements, ensuring work is clearly presented, evidence-based, proportionate and aligned to relevant guidelines * Engaging with stakeholders and local communities to understand the relevant contexts and priorities for assessment * Embedding principles of participation and sustainable development in the planning and delivery of our projects * Providing input to related types of assessment including Social Impact Assessment, Child Rights and Wellbeing Assessment, and Equality Impact Assessments Our health and social assessment team specialises in consenting for nationally significant infrastructure projects across the UK, Europe and beyond. We provide technical expertise for clients and projects across a range of sectors such as water resource management, flood risk management, renewable energy, transport and global health.
