Our client, a large logistics organisation, is looking to recruit the services of an experienced Data Services Manager to be based in Felixstowe, Suffolk.

The Data Services Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the data services function within the organization. The role includes identifying data needs, ensuring data integrity, and managing resources aligned with business objectives. The manager will lead a team of data professionals, collaborate with various stakeholders, and drive the development and implementation of data strategies. The goal is to enable data-driven decision-making and enhance the efficiency of data management, storage, analysis, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of data management systems.
  • Ensure seamless data integration between internal and external systems.
  • Manage database access rights and maintain data quality.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data insights and develop reporting frameworks.
  • Lead data analytics projects to derive actionable insights.
  • Deliver regular reports and dashboards to communicate key performance indicators.
  • Team Leadership; building and leading a high-performing data services team.
  • Provide technical guidance for team members

Required Skills/experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in data management or related roles.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including handling large datasets using SQL
  • Experience with Oracle
  • Experience with Excel VBA
  • Experience with data analytics and visualisation tools
  • Proficiency in data management principles, tools, and practices.
  • Familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools, and statistical analysis techniques.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
