The Job
At our client's hotel, food quality takes centre stage. Recognizing the significance of freshness and quality is important to their guests, our client diligently integrates top-tier local produce and seasonal ingredients into their culinary offerings. This position entails close collaboration with the head chef to work alongside a team of chefs dedicated to crafting exceptional food for the dining room, café, and function events. Your responsibilities will encompass a diverse array of tasks, requiring adaptability to fluctuating customer demands. If you thrive on the dynamic atmosphere of maintaining high culinary standards in a bustling kitchen within a rapidly evolving business, this opportunity could be an ideal fit for you.
The Person
As the Commis Chef, you'll contribute in preparing food for up to 120 guests during peak periods, as well as catering for functions of similar scale. With a sharp focus on quality, consistency, and portion control, you'll ensure culinary excellence across all dishes. Building strong rapport with the front of house team, you'll collaborate closely to swiftly fulfil guest preferences. While a qualification in professional cookery would be advantageous, indispensable is relevant industry experience at the Commis Chef level. Flexibility is key, as working hours may vary to accommodate the dynamic needs of the business.
