Role Summary


We are seeking a Loss Control Consultant to join our team in the United Kingdom. In this role, you will work closely with clients to assess risks, identify potential hazards, and implement strategies to prevent losses. You will play a critical role in helping businesses improve safety standards and comply with regulatory requirements, ultimately reducing their exposure to losses. This position is essential in supporting our underwriting team with accurate risk assessments and providing tailored risk management advice to clients.


Role Accountabilities

  • Conduct thorough on-site inspections and virtual assessments of client operations to identify risks and safety hazards.
  • Evaluate clients’ business activities, including property, occupational health and safety, liability, and equipment risks.
  • Develop and implement risk management programmes to minimise loss and ensure compliance with UK safety regulations.
  • Provide detailed, written reports of findings and actionable recommendations to reduce risk and improve workplace safety.
  • Work collaboratively with underwriters to provide accurate risk assessments for new business and renewals.
  • Deliver training sessions and workshops to clients, ensuring their staff are equipped with the knowledge and tools to mitigate risk effectively.
  • Monitor and review the effectiveness of risk management strategies and provide ongoing support to clients as needed.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, regulatory updates, and emerging risks relevant to various sectors.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with clients, serving as their trusted adviser for all risk management matters.
  • Any additional duties as assigned.


Role Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in loss control, risk management, or safety consulting, ideally within the insurance sector. Knowledge of Waste & Recycling sites, highly desirable.
  • Qualifications in Risk Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.


Skills and Abilities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and manage a wide range of risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Knowledge of UK safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices in risk management.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in the use of risk assessment software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites across the United Kingdom as required.
