I'm currently working with the UK's leading producer of energy from waste who also have expertise in Solar and Battery Energy Storage (BESS) technology. This role reduces greenhouse gas emissions and provides secure, efficient power by pioneering innovative methods to generate low-carbon electricity from often wasted sources.


The Role


This is a unique opportunity for two skilled Electrical Project Engineers, one's background being in Electrical LV/HV Design and the others being in Control & Instrumentation (C&I), to make a significant impact on their innovative renewable energy projects. You will bring your expertise in design, installation, and commissioning to their in-house construction team and EPC contractor, contributing to the delivery of theirsubstantial 1GW pipeline of Solar and BESS projects.


You will be responsible for designing solutions, reviewing system designs, and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure technical compliance and timely project delivery. This hands-on role requires excellent communication and influencing abilities, strong problem-solving skills, and a proven track record of leading multiple projects, including documentation, planning, and execution.


This role is hybrid and will balance remote and onsite work. The C&I Project Engineer will be also expected to do occasional overseas travel for Equipment FAT's.


Responsibilites


  • Define the initial Electrical or C&I requirements for our solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and power response projects; review and approve submitted designs.
  • Either establish the C&I, OT, IT, and SCADA system requirements for new renewable energy projects or inspect as-built drawings upon project completion to verify their accuracy and completeness, and confirm they are delivered in the appropriate format.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and oversee factory testing to ensure that the electrical/C&I design and build meets the specified design and requirements.


Requirements


  • HND or higher in Electrical Engineering
  • Proven experience in Electrical Design on LV/HV Projects or in specifying and integrating Controls and SCADA systems
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to travel when its requried
  • UK Drivers License
  • Plus if you have Solar and/or BESS experience


Benefits


  • Salary between £45-60,000 dependant on experience
  • £7.5-9,000 Car Allowance
  • Annual bonus up to 25% (average pay out is 20%)
  • 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Financial support for domestic Solar/BESS/EV charge point installations
