Location of Role: MaidstoneAdvert Closing Date: 16/12/2025Starting Salary: 41856.00(pro-rata for part-time vacancies)Part/Full Time:Full TimeContract Type: PermanentWorking Pattern: Mon-FriWeekend/Evening Working: NoAn exciting opportunity has arisen within the Legal Services Department for a permanent position as a Legal Executive in the Legal Services Department at Kent Police Headquarters Sutton Road Maidstone. The post holder will be responsible amongst other work for the processing and presentation of applications for Domestic Violence Protection Orders (DVPO). The objective of DVPOs is to enhance the protection of victims and allow better management of perpetrators.There is a need for a qualified Legal Executive or an equivalent legal qualification who will be required to act as an advocate in the Magistrates Court on behalf of the Chief Constable of Kent Police to seek such DVPOs.In addition the post holder will be required to manage a personal case load which includes other areas of work such as licensing civil injunctions crime enquiries and other civil orders that the Legal Services Department process.You should be a Legal Executive or have an equivalent legal qualification and preferably have advocacy experience in the Magistrates Court.A knowledge of police policies and procedures would be beneficial.The post will require attendance at Court on a Saturday and will therefore be subject to a rota arrangement.Your own transport and a valid driving license are essential to this role.This opportunity would suit a highly-motivated and dynamic individual who can bring their wide experience to a challenging environment.If you require any further information on the role please contact Sarah Hobbs on .Kent Police offer incremental increases within this salary band therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of47505.00.For the full job description please click here.Your application for this role will be shortlisted on the content you provide within the reason for application question within the application form itself.
