This full-time role will be responsible for managing the storage, transportation and delivery of goods for the Craven Dunnill Group operations. Transport and warehouse management is at the core of our business, and being efficient and effective in that area is absolutely critical to our success. We strive to add value for our suppliers and our customers at all times, ensuring that our products reach our customers in the most efficient and appropriate manner.


GENERAL DUTIES

·        Organise and manage the safe and efficient storage and distribution of our products

·        Ensure all customer orders are satisfied correctly and appropriately

·        Responsible for entire product flow through the business – goods received from suppliers, stock management, order picking, transport planning and deliveries

·        Manage warehouse personnel, delivering an efficient, productive, and motivated team

·        Manage and ensure full compliance of vehicle fleet, drivers, and routing process   


KEY RESPONSIBILTIES

Strategy & Development

·        Plan, manage, and evaluate logistical operations across the business to optimise efficiency and performance

·        Develop and implement an operational plan to maximise the impact of recent infrastructural investments in the business

·        Lead all logistical and distribution operations, ensuring our customers are provided with exceptional service, every single time


General Management

·        Organise and oversee all operations in relation to the warehouse, stock, and deliveries

·        Ensure excellent housekeeping is maintained throughout the warehouse and transport fleet at all times

·        Ensure that the quality of working stock is maintained at a consistently high level

·        Ensure the integrity of stock accuracy and manage stock movements

·        Support the maintenance of the Quality Management System through thorough investigations of the root causes of any issues, as well as feedback / training to staff to continually improve the service to our customers

·        Manage and review the goods transport fleet on an ongoing basis for repairs and replacements as required

·        Continually monitor the quality and efficiency of our logistical and distribution operations, reporting to the Board with findings and suggestions for improvements

·        Oversee the resolution of all logistical issues as they may arise in a timely, efficient, and effective manner

·        Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and that drivers comply with traffic and drivers’ hours rules

·        Oversee and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations for the site, maintaining a safe working environment for all employees


People Management

·        Lead and manage the transport and warehouse team, monitoring and tracking ongoing performance across our practices

·        Set departmental KPIs, using defined metrics to review and assess performance and implement enhancements

·        Ensure all teams operate in accordance with health and safety policies and procedures to ensure the safety of staff and visitors


Training & Development

·        Champion the importance of training and development across the transport and warehouse team

·        Oversee the implementation of a rolling training schedule for all staff in your team, to develop skills and improve departmental performance


Environmental

·        Support the company’s proactive stance to sustainability, ensuring all logistical activities are environmentally responsible


KEY SKILLS

·        Proven track record of management, with the ability to optimize team performance and development

·        Strong planning skills and experience in handling multiple projects through to delivery

·        Commercial acumen and understanding of the importance of efficiency in a business

·        Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills

·        Ability to build rapport quickly with employees across the business


REQUIREMENTS

·        Strong digital skills, with an understanding of warehouse management systems and delivery management systems

·        A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role

·        National CPC preferred. Up to date knowledge of transport legislation essential

·        Experience in health & safety compliance

·        Clean driving licence
