Trainee Estimator

We are now seeking a Trainee Estimator to join our team.

Vanguard Healthcare Solutions is a fast-growing company. We are a UK-based, privately owned, international provider of infrastructure and clinical services supporting healthcare clients worldwide. Vanguard Healthcare Solutions was established in 1999.

Our purpose-designed and built mobile and modular facilities provide our clients with new or replacement healthcare spaces including operating theatres, endoscopy suites and sterilisation and diagnostic departments. As part of our solution to our clients we also support them with clinical teams and equipment for our facilities.

We are looking for a Trainee Estimator in a hybrid role (minimum 2 days in the office) to join our Estimating/Finance Team, based in Gloucester.

Responsibilities
To assist the Estimating Manager in preparing quotations for Vanguard Healthcare products and services
Build and deliver preparation of cost quotations for different aspects of the business (i.e. Tenders, Sales Department) within the UK, European & Australian markets
Examine tender documentation for specification requirements & terms/conditions of contract
Review client requirements and determine what is to be offered
Obtain and review sub-contract quotations to ensure compliance with employers requirements. Assess for accuracy and best value
Obtain quotations for non-standard materials. Review and assess for accuracy and best value
Establish and lay out initial contract price breakdown to be used for valuations by the Vanguard Operations team
Support and price variation quotations when required, pre & post contract
Assist with contract/budget issues

Requirements
Educated to Degree level in business, construction management or Quantity Surveying, or equivalent experience is desirable
A problem solver with a demonstrated strong work ethic
Experience of MS Excel and Word is essential
Understanding of construction materials
Can use critical thinking to assist with daily tasks and needs
Demonstrated attention to details and time management capabilities
