A motivated self-starter with strong technical skills you will be able to work under limited supervision and will bring fresh ideas from the utilities sector and beyond. As technical owner you will be responsible for all technical aspects of a suite of applications. You will be managing delivery roadmaps co-ordinating functional and technical upgrades spanning across multiple technologies and 3rd party vendors managing maintenance activities and delivering projects.You will be versatile display leadership abilities and be enthusiastic about solving challenging problems. As subject matter expert in your field you will be driving the delivery of solutions to meet the fast-moving needs of the business whilst using your technical skills to interrogate systems for problem shooting and analysis.Providing great customer service is key to everything we do. So you will be striving to improve system stability and identifying and resolving performance issues to ensure our customers have a great experience. You will also put performance and stability at the forefront of everything you do. Security is also key to what we do so you will be responsible for keeping our systems secure through rigorous vulnerability management.What youll be doing Leading the delivery of application solutions across multiple technologies from planning and analysis through to design development testing training and deploymentSubject matter expert in your field providing advice and guidance to wider Customer Business COE team and beyondPerforming technical tasks for system maintenance problem shooting and analysisManaging 3rd party vendors to ensure they deliver development and support within agreed quality and timescalesOperational monitoring and support to maintain system security stability and efficiencyCo-ordinating functional and technical releases and upgradesCo-ordinating vulnerability management and remediation plans to maintain system securityCollaborating with wider Customer Business COE team other business areas and IT teams to deliver solutionsPrioritising solutions based on business benefitCommunicating complex solutions effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders up to senior management levelCoaching / leading internal and external members of the team as requiredWhat youll bringMinimum Qualifications and Experience:Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering Computer Science similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experienceProven experience of leading project delivery and managing 3rd party vendorsProven experience of Application solutions design delivering IT solutionsPrevious experience in a technical role e.g. as a developer or technical analystProven ability to capture and translate complex business requirements into systems requirementsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to lead internal and external resourcesPreferred Qualifications and Experience:Masters degree in Computer Engineering Computer Science or similar technical field of studyAbility to architect and design end to end solutions involving multiple technologiesExperience of SCRUM/AgileKnowledge and understanding of the UK Energy Retail Market preferably from working in the utilities sectorKnowledge of Cloud ArchitecturesKnowledge of SMART metering technologiesKnowledge of Oracle database technologiesKnowledge of AWS technologiesExperience of SQL Java XML API technologyWhats in it for you As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually you can also enjoy a number of other benefits.
