Lead Data Developer

Peaple Talent has exclusively partnered a with a leading law firm based in Bristol who are currently recruiting a Lead Developer who will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of key projects and programmes such as the replacement of their on-premise finance system with a modern cloud-based solution. You will provide technical leadership for the data migration and integrations workstreams along with providing mentorship to the development team and managing risks and issues to ensure smooth delivery. This role will require a hands involvement in data migration, integration development and close collaboration with the project manager and stakeholders to meet strategic objectives
You will be an experienced technical leader with expertise in enterprise data migration, cloud-based integrations, and mentorship of development teams. You will have proven experience of delivering complex integration projects using Azure Service Bus and related technologies, with a deep understanding of both legacy systems and modern platforms.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for the data migration workstream, ensuring all tasks are completed on schedule.
- Oversee and contribute to the hands-on development of data migration processes.
- Lead the integrations workstream, ensuring successful delivery of all planned integrations.
- Design, develop, and implement integrations using Azure Service Bus and related technologies.
- Assess and manage risks and issues across the data migration and integrations workstreams.
- Collaborate closely with the project manager to align technical efforts with project objectives.
- Mentor and provide guidance to developers working on data migration and integration tasks.
- Ensure compliance with the firm's technical and security standards.
- Work with stakeholders to gather and refine technical requirements for integrations.
- Contribute to the decision-making process regarding the potential replacement of Intapp Integrate with Microsoft Power Platform.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for data migration and integrations.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer within the team to build long-term capability.
Required skills and experience
- Proven experience in leading data migration projects for enterprise systems.
- Expertise in Azure Service Bus, including queues, topics, and relays.
- Proficiency in integration development and enterprise architecture.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Azure and SQL Server.
- Experience with API development and management, particularly REST and SOAP.
- Knowledge in Intapp Integrate and/or Microsoft Power Platform ideal but not required
- Experience with data mapping, transformation, and validation techniques.
- Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns and best practices
- Excellent risk and issue management capabilities.
- Experience mentoring and guiding development teams.
- Ability to balance technical leadership with hands-on development work.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with project managers, developers, and stakeholders.
- Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
knowledge and qualifications
- Enterprise-level data migration and integration methodologies.
- Modern development practices, including Agile frameworks.
- Tools and platforms for enterprise messaging and middleware.
- Risk and issue management frameworks for technical projects.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in Azure (e.g., Azure Developer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect).
- Certifications in integration tools or enterprise development (e.g., TOGAF, ITIL)
