Legal Cashier Location: Cardiff Hours: 37.5 per week (MondayFriday, 9 am5:30 pm) The Opportunity TSR Legal are delighted to be assisting a well-established regional law firm with offices across South Wales in their search for a Legal Cashier to join their busy Finance team based in central Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounts professional to play a key role in supporting the smooth financial operations of a respected legal practice. Working closely with the Finance Manager, youll help ensure the firms financial processes are efficient, compliant, and meticulously maintained. Key Responsibilities Preparing and processing client invoices in coordination with fee earners. Managing payments into and out of client accounts in line with the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SARs). Handling day-to-day postings to the office ledger. Processing CHAPS/BACS transfers, ensuring appropriate authorisation. Paying client disbursements and supplier invoices promptly and accurately. Reconciling card transactions, expense claims, and credit card statements. Liaising with fee earners regarding billing, aged debt, and related financial matters. Assisting with month-end and year-end procedures, including report preparation. Maintaining central financial registers and general administration (filing, photocopying, etc.). About You Essential: Experience working in a professional office environment (ideally legal or financial). GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above in Maths and English. Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook. Solid understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules and client account management. Experience managing both sales and purchase ledgers. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Professional, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a small team. Desirable: Working knowledge practice management systems.
