The Supplier Risk Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to supplier risk management.

Key Skills -

  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for supplier risk management.
  • Prior experience in the energy sector, preferably within the public sector, is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of public sector procurement regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent understanding of supplier risk management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and frameworks related to supplier risk management in the energy sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and mitigate supplier-related risks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to influence senior stakeholders to take action.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional certifications in procurement, risk management, or related fields are desirable

Key responsibilities -

  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimise the impact of supplier-related risks.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance and compliance with contractual obligations and service level agreements.
  • Design and develop comprehensive standard operating procedures (SOPs) for supplier risk management, ensuring alignment with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and organizational objectives.
  • Implement and oversee the execution of SOPs to effectively identify, assess, and mitigate supplier-related risks across the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, legal, and compliance, to ensure the integration of supplier risk management practices into overall organizational processes.
  • Conduct thorough supplier risk assessments, evaluating financial stability and compliance with regulations
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes related to supplier risk management in the energy sector.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on supplier risk management processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as regulatory authorities and industry associations, to stay informed about industry standards and best practices.

This role will require 2 days per week in the office - this location can be flexible, Bristol, Midlands or Berkshire
