Job DescriptionPortlethen Academy would welcome applications from a Teacher of French who has a passion for delivering high quality learning and teaching and is enthusiastic about supporting the well-being of our young people. We offer National Qualifications in French and Spanish at National 4 to Advanced Higher levels. We also offer a range of progression pathways for our young people through Languages for Life and Work Courses at SCQF Level 4 and Level 5. The Modern Languages Faculty is committed to collegiate working, peer support, providing leadership opportunities and employing a range of teaching approaches to ensure the best outcomes for our young people. Fixed Term for a period not exceeding 04 January 2027. This post has a minimum requirement of one reference, which must be your current or most recent employer.ResponsibilitiesThe successful applicant will: Teach assigned Spanish and French classes in BGE and Senior Phase. Plan, prepare, correct, and record appropriate work for pupils both individually and in partnership with class teachers. Set and maintain targets for pupils as appropriate. Contribute to the preparation of pupils for internal and external assessments. Help learners to feel safe, nurtured, and able to progress positively through their education. Support the planning and delivery of inclusive and flexible strategies tailored to learners’ needs. Work effectively as part of the wider teaching team and enhance already established systems and processes. Work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to move forward with key whole-school Improvement Priorities. Undertake appropriate and agreed continuing professional development.
