DescriptionRequired skills and experience:Suitable degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent higher education or experienceProven Track record from similar background e.g. test house/manufacturer/service engineer/lead auditor backgroundGood IT Skills experience with excel word and data retention systems.Experience of working in accordance with a Quality Management SystemAbility to fault find down to component levelExperience working in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory would be desirableSound working knowledge of component-level electronicsAbility to read and determine applicability of national/international codes and standards for the product being tested and/or evaluatedAbility to read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructionsExperience in testing of products in accordance with relevant safety standards e.g. IEC/EN 60601-1 and/or 61010-1.Working knowledge of the principles and practices of manufacturing systemsAbility to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusionsMust be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced multi-tasking environmentABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYThe roles key purpose is to complete electrical safety evaluations for Interteks global Medical and Laboratory client base. Working within the Intertek Electrical UK team the Test Engineer will work closely with clients to evaluate their products and documentation to ensure they meet the specific requirements of the applicable test standards. In addition you will engage in a wide range of laboratory and administrative activities to ensure efficient and effective technical support is provided.Key activities:Set-up up and delivery of specified test programs for safety evaluations for Interteks medical and laboratory client base.Core testing including but not limited to ratings leakage current dielectric strength temperature pressure stability mechanical hazards flammability etc.Assess technical documentation and processes against standard requirementsProduce final evaluation and stage reports detailing summary and project findingsReview of client requirements and preparation of test plans/quotations in liaison with relevant sales staff.Provide technical support to the businessAttend customer calls and meetingsEnsure evaluations are conducted in conjunction within Interteks quality system and accreditation requirements.Performing other tasks as per needs of the business.WHAT WE OFFERJoin Intertek and become part of our global network of inspiring and entrepreneurial colleagues.
