Intertek Electrical are currently recruiting for a Test Engineer specialising in Medical and Laboratory product lines. As a Medical Test Engineer you will be working with our client base testing, evaluating and writing reports for their products. Our ideal candidate will have a strong technical understanding of medical, laboratory & associated standards along with good customer facing skills.
Proven Track record from similar background e.g. test house/manufacturer/service engineer/lead auditor background
Good IT Skills, experience with excel, word and data retention systems.
Experience of working in accordance with a Quality Management System
Sound working knowledge of component-level electronics
Ability to read and determine applicability of national/international codes and standards for the product being tested and/or evaluated
Ability to read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructions
Experience in testing of products in accordance with relevant safety standards e.g. Working knowledge of the principles and practices of manufacturing systems
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
The role’s key purpose is to complete electrical safety evaluations for Intertek’s global Medical and Laboratory client base. Working within the Intertek Electrical UK team, the Test Engineer will work closely with clients to evaluate their products and documentation to ensure they meet the specific requirements of the applicable test standards. In addition, you will engage in a wide range of laboratory and administrative activities to ensure efficient and effective technical support is provided.

Set-up up and delivery of specified test programs for safety evaluations for Intertek’s medical and laboratory client base.
Core testing including but not limited to ratings, leakage current, dielectric strength, temperature, pressure, stability, mechanical hazards, flammability, etc.
Produce final evaluation and stage reports detailing summary and project findings
Provide technical support to the business
Ensure evaluations are conducted in conjunction within Intertek’s quality system and accreditation requirements.
