PNL Production and Explain Associate

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a PNL Production and Explain Associate for a 12-month long contract based in London (hybrid).
Purpose of the Role:
The role of the PNL Production and Explain - Associate is to produce and validate the daily PNL and PNL Explains for Exotic Trading Desks within ex-Fixed Income and be accountable for the delivery of the PNL for all sign-off groups within the PNL group belong being to the team.
As a PnL Production and Explain Associate , you will be:
- Producing the official PNL figures, investigate the discrepancies with the expectations done the previous day and understand the economic reasons justifying the PNL (market moves, new deals, strategies etc.).
- Reviewing the PNL Explain in depth and correct wrong effect if no technical solution can be found to overturn the misallocation.
- Reviewing the Risk based market PNL and analyse differences against the PNL Explain until the gap is understood and documented.
- Reconciling the system valuation against our calculation for specific products such as Futures and Bonds.
- Reviewing the cash payments expected from exotic products.
- Assisting in the training of new and junior members of the team and provide cover for other members where necessary.
- Supporting the implementation of new system functionalities and raise IT requirements for bug fixing or system enhancements when possible.
- Participating in Transversal projects.
What we require from the candidate:
- Typically require a university degree (in Finance, Business, Economics or hard science) as an indicator of an ability to understand and apply complex theoretical concepts, although may have progressed into the role via equivalent business experience.
- Experience working in a control function within an investment bank.
- Some experience in project involvement
- In-depth knowledge of instruments traded in Fixed Income as well as exposure to other asset classes.
- Good theoretical knowledge of derivative pricing
